Everyone welcome at our table

Accessibility

We want every guest to be able to explore our menu, make a reservation, and reach us with ease — online as well as in person.

Our commitment

Melting Borders Kitchen & Sips is committed to making our website usable for as many people as possible, including guests who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, or keyboard-only navigation. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we work to improve the experience for everyone.

Standards we aim for

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA (opens in a new tab). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of abilities. We build accessibility directly into our website rather than relying on an add-on overlay or accessibility widget.

What we’ve done

  • Full keyboard operability, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element and a “Skip to main content” link.
  • Semantic, structured HTML with clear landmarks (header, navigation, main, and footer) and a logical heading order on every page.
  • Our full menu is provided as real, selectable text — not only as an image or PDF.
  • Menu categories use an accessible tab pattern that can be operated with the arrow keys.
  • Forms have clearly associated labels, required fields conveyed in more than color, and confirmation and error messages that are announced to assistive technology.
  • Color combinations are chosen to meet AA contrast, and we never rely on color alone to convey meaning.
  • The site reflows for zoom up to 200% and honors the “reduce motion” setting in your operating system.
  • Images that convey meaning include descriptive alternative text.

Ongoing work & limitations

While we strive to follow WCAG 2.2 AA, we do not claim that the site is fully compliant or certified, and some content may not yet meet every guideline. We continue to test and refine the experience. If you encounter a barrier, please let us know — your feedback helps us prioritize improvements.
